Patience truLove is an architect and a lover of all things art and design related. She grew up in the art world, as her father has an extensive collection that spans a historical spectrum of several hundred years. From her middle school years, he’s been more involved in the contemporary art scene and Patience has had the opportunity to meet many artists.

The design world is more her realm as she expands her knowledge and exposure while in architecture school. Though she’s a fictional character, I have to be informed about the design world. Dwell magazine is one of my “go to’s” as are several other design publications. I’m often having my mind blown wide open by the innovation of people around the world. They make cool things, they make weird things, they make absurd things and they make functional things. My personal tastes run more to the way of functional and beautiful. To my way of thinking, that’s the real challenge. Of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Below I’ve attached a link to a Dwell article that highlights some current designers whose work shines.

I’m especially fond of the lighting designers “Anony” and the “Float Table” by Olivia Lee. I wish Patience could meet them in her travels through the world. Maybe I’ll have to find a way to blend fiction and reality 🙂
